GAME OF THRONES “Battle of the Bastards” Gets the OVERWATCH Treatment

Right now, there are two pop cultural obsessions dominating my — and many others’ — every waking thought: Game of Thrones and Overwatch. The former just unleashed one of its most impressive episodes to date in “The Battle of the Bastards,” which showcased one of the most brutal, visceral depictions of a medieval battle ever committed to screen. The latter is an incredibly addictive, character-driven team-based shooter that is generating more memes per capita than Steph Curry’s shoes and Crying Jordan combined. The game also rewards the best moment in each match with an ESPN Top 10-style highlight known as the Play of the Game. So, it’s only natural that intrepid internet users would combine Game of Thrones and Overwatch like peanut butter and murdery chocolate to showcase the best Plays of the Game this side of Westeros.

Editor’s note: the following videos contain spoilers for this week’s Game of Thrones.

With Jon Snow staring down the full might of the Baratheon cavalry — a shot rendered practically, mind you — it’s no surprise that YouTube’s Node thinks he earned POTG. (via Kotaku)

But Jon and his boys would have been SOL had it not been for that conniving, mustachioed Petyr Baelish and the Knights of the Vale. As a result, MnM Edits believes Littlefinger deserves POTG:

Then again, wasn’t it technically Sansa Stark who engineered all of this? AND fed Ramsey Bolton to his ravenous dogs? Dork Shelf think so:

Speaking of Ramsey Bolton, how savage was he when he went full Hanzo on Rickon “What’s Serpentine?” Stark? M7mite has the answer:

However, across the Narrow Sea in Mereen, Grey Worm delivered the smoothest double kill we’ve seen in six seasons, which is enough for Drazule to give him POTG:

And just for the hell of it, here’s Jon Snow taking a page out of the World of Warcraft playbook and going full-on Leeroy Jenkins:

Who do you think deserved Play of the Game from last week’s Game of Thrones? Let us know in the comments below.
