For the Right Price, You Can Wear Christian Bale’s Batsuit While Reading Harry Potter’s Hogwarts Acceptance Letter

For the Right Price, You Can Wear Christian Bale’s Batsuit While Reading Harry Potter’s Hogwarts Acceptance Letter

Movie prop replicas have become big business as more and more people want to wear their geekiness on their sleeves, cowls, and holsters. According to Entertainment Weekly, prop and memorabilia vendor Prop Store is soon giving fans with deep pockets the chance to own some choice genuine articles. Up for grabs at the September 27th auction are Christian Bale’s Batsuit and Batpod, a TIE Fighter pilot helmet, Richard Attenborough’s personal (and annotated!) Jurassic Park script, Harry Potter’s Hogwarts acceptance letter from Sorcerer’s Stone, a Gizmo puppet, The Terminator’s shotgun and close to 570 more props.

And, hey you guys, the main page for the auction also boasts a Goonies Sloth mask and Captain America’s busted-up shield.

Clearly it’s some wealthy nerd’s duty to purchase every single thing from the auction and pose for an epic selfie outside of Hall H. For those interested in tackling this fantastically impressive feat, you’ll have to register for the auction, but you can bid in person in London, online, and over the phone. For those hoping merely to catch a glimpse of some incredibly cool movie mementos while cringing at their bank account, there’s a free preview going on at the London ODEON BFI IMAX theater for two weeks leading up to the big sale.

The big question is what three filmic artifacts you’d want to create a real-life mash-up with. For my money, I’d want to fly the crop duster from North By Northwest, with the Ark of the Covenant stashed in the back, through the rotating hotel hallway from Inception. No idea where I’m gonna store that last one, but what would you buy?
