Hogwarts is Getting a Residential Makeover

Unfortunately, this doesn’t involve a trip to Platform 9¾, but it’s still pretty spectacular. Royal Cannaught Park—one of the many locations used to shoot scenes at the famed Hogwarts School of Witchcraft & Wizardry in the Harry Potter films—is undergoing massive renovations to transform into luxury flats (that’s British for apartment for all you Americans out there).

Prior to its use in the Potter films, Royal Cannaught Park was previously known as The Royal Masonic School for Boys until the late 1970s. In the latter 90s, it was bought by Comer Homes who began the renovations and transformation. Over the years, the grounds have been featured in a number of films, most notably the many scenes that featured Hogwarts that saw Harry and his cohorts getting the best magical education that the United Kingdom had to offer. The dining hall — pictured below in its every day splendor — will look familiar to fans of the films as it was Hogwarts’ dining hall for the first three films.

The new apartments will have completely updated fixtures and modern appointments. You are probably going to wish you had a vault at Gringotts though, because the price range for the flats range from £1,000,000 to £4,000,000. That said, the pictures indicate that they may just be worth every single penny you pay for them for the glory of saying you lived at Hogwarts alone.

While it may not be quite as romantic as a castle with secret passages, staircases with minds of their own, and a dungeon where you get to take classes (to say nothing of the fabled kitchens), it’s pretty cool that the real witches and wizards of the UK will get the chance to live in the hallowed halls of such a famed educational institution.

That’s right: Hogwarts is real, and you can’t convince me otherwise.
