While Daniel Craig might currently be out saving the world on movie screens everywhere in Spectreâas we all knowâthe part of James Bond is much bigger than any one actor. Or even any one medium for that matter, having appeared in novels, movies, video games, and now the pages of Dynamite Entertainment’s publishing the latest Bond comic, the first comic for the character in twenty years.
Titled Ian Fleming’s James Bond 007: Vargr (the  word “Vargr” is actually an old Norse word for “wolf” or “destroyer,” in case you were wondering). This latest six issue series is from legendary writer Warren Ellis, who also wrote REDâon which the movie about a group of retired CIA agents was basedâproving he’s hardly a stranger to this sort of material. The artist on this series is illustrator  Jason Masters, who has done a lot of work for both Marvel and DC over the past few years.
In the upcoming third issue of Vargr, Bond is on his way to break up a small, agile drug-trafficking operation in Berlin. But the real truth about what he’s walking into is actually bigger, scarier, and far more lethal. In this new series, Bond is portrayed much as his creator Ian Fleming did, with a few flashes of Sean Connery, Roger Moore, Pierce Brosnan, and Daniel Craig thrown in there (and probably George Lazenby and Timothy Dalton too, if you look hard enough) for good measure.
But don’t just take our word for it! Because you can check out our exclusive preview of Ian Fleming’s James Bond 007: Vargr #3âset to hit comic shops on January 6, 2016âin the gallery below. And don’t forget:Â #2 is on sale this week!
