Fill Your Goblet, Put Some Fire In it: HARRY POTTER Meets ‘Uptown Funk’

The Dark Lord is full of funk! (Turn on the subtitles for the full effect.)

This flawless, absurd, amazing, and hilarious parody of Bruno Mars’ “Uptown Funk” is everything you could hope for, if what you hope for is a top 40 song packed full of Harry Potter references. The team over at KFaceTV put together this wide-ranging music video with cameo appearances by all of your favorite wizards, witches, Muggles & squibs. (Yes, even Argus Filch feels the funk.)

With Voldemort (portrayed by Elijah Thomas) as the vocal lead, this is a song wherein all of the players are 100% committed, and the result is 100% hilarious. When they stitch in John William’s “Hedwig’s Theme” with the chorus breakdown, I lose it every time. Bruno Mars and Mark Ronson already created an instantly familiar, catchy tune, and now thanks to KFaceTV I have my favorite literary characters interspersed in the lyrics to keep it running through my head even longer.

The costuming and casting is so on point, especially with the Death Eaters. Since the Big Three–Harry, Hermione, and Ron–aren’t the protagonists of this particular tune, we don’t see much of them, but kudos to the team for their versions of Bellatrix Lestrange, Fenrir Greyback, Voldemort and of course Nagini. They cast a friggin’ Nagini! They will be releasing the song on iTunes in the future, so pay attention to the hashtag #darklordfunk on Twitter to stay up to date on the date, or you can keep an eye on the KFace iTunes artist page.

Can you resist a siriusly good pun? Because I can’t!

For good measure, here’s another one of KFaceTV’s parody songs, “Talk Nerdy To Me”
