Fans Make Silly, Wonderful STAR WARS Art

I know it’s still several months away, but I’m really excited about new Star Wars. The idea of more adventures in a galaxy far, far away has me, and probably most of you too, bubbling with cautious optimism that we could be returning to a golden age of laser swords, spaceship battles, and droids that say silly things. It’s enough to make any fan who grew up obsessed by the original trilogy melt into a pile of childlike wonder and awe.

Sometimes, the thought of having to wait until December for The Force Awakens, and all its myriad promises of awesome things to come, courtesy of J.J. Abrams and company, get to be too much for my 31-year-old-yet-decidedly-younger-in-spirit self to contain. Luckily, there’s no shortage of creative folks out there who like to express their talent through their love of the Saga and its many guises.

If one were to cruise DeviantArt or other such sites, they’d be treated with a smorgasbord of Star Wars, from the ultra-realistic to the ultra-unrealistic. It’s this second category, and specifically comedic or spoof images, that have piqued my interest this day. Below, I’ve compiled a gallery of some of my favorite funny, silly, or out-there Star Wars pieces of fan art for you to enjoy as you make your way through the weekend.

Enjoy! And be sure to check out the rest of the art by these talented artists, all linked right below this!
