The second season of Star Wars Rebels premiered in June with an hour-long special, but then it hit the pause button. You will only have to be patient for another month and a half, Padawans, because Season 2 will continue on Wednesday, October 14 at 9:30pm ET/PT on Disney XD. (Yes, it’s moving from its Monday night slot.) Those attending New York Comic Con will get an early look at what’s ahead as two episodes featuring the reappearance of former clone troopers Captain Rex, Captain Gregor, and Commander Wolffe from Star Wars: The Clone Wars will air at the convention. And now, a new clip hints at their return.

The clip shows Ahsoka Tano leaving the crew of the Ghost to search for an old friend. That old friend is none other than Captain Rex. Note how she insists to Kanan that her friend is trustworthy. Given Kanan’s Order 66 experience, it’s natural to assume he’s not going be the biggest fan of any clone. It’s interesting to know he’ll likely meet Rex and company for the first time without Ahsoka present to smooth things over.

As exciting as it will be to see the return of the clones in Star Wars Rebels and to hopefully learn about their post-Order 66 existence, I’m more intrigued by Ahsoka’s mission. She had a run-in with Darth Vader in the Season 2 premiere, and though I don’t think she knows Vader is actually Anakin Skywalker, I believe she has concerns. She’s off to look for answers to her questions about the Sith Lord, and I’m worried about what she will find. I have a hunch I’m going to need tissues in the near future.
