Fan Art Friday #77 – GAME OF THRONES

Unless you’ve been living under a dragon egg, you’re likely aware that Game of Thrones is back on HBO with new episodes. Season six confirmed the drama is as real as ever as it jumped around to visit with our large cast of characters. The political intrigue deepened all around the land — new leaders moved into place and previous leaders were murdered. Revenge continues to be an influencing factor, and so does righteousness.

We’re in for a ride over the next nine episodes of the season, that’s for sure. And to celebrate the fact that we’re finally back in Westeros, I’ve focused on Game of Thrones for this week’s Fan Art Friday.

I featured some other Thrones fan art in a previous installment, but that was a year ago. Artists haven’t stopped creating new pieces. For example, check out this Jon Snow:

Boy, do I feel sorry for that kid. He tried to do the best and fairest thing he could do to protect the realm and the wildlings and look where it got him.

This striking depiction of Arya Stark’s blindness is beautiful and kind of haunting:

Head to the gallery below to see more illustrations featuring characters from all over Westeros and beyond. I went for art that caught my eye instead of trying to choose different characters so there are a couple Aryas. It happens.

Did you watch the Game of Thrones season six premiere? What are your theories so far? Share them with me in the comments and feel free to drop links to more fan art.
