Fan Art Friday #20 – SPIDER-GWEN

Last fall, Edge of Spider-Verse #2 by writer Jason Latour and artist Robbie Rodriguez, introduced a universe where Gwen Stacy became Spider-Man. Er, Spider-Woman. Make that Spider-Gwen. The comic book was energetic, weighty, and inventive, and fans lost it. The reaction to Spider-Gwen was so positive that Marvel announced an ongoing series for the hero. Spider-Gwen #1 hit stores two days ago (read Eric’s review), and it didn’t disappoint. I enjoyed the story but would also like to take a moment to say that Spider-Gwen is wearing my favorite superhero costume design in recent memory. Rodriguez killed it. Killed.

Since this week featured #Gwensday, it seemed fitting to tip our hats to Spider-Gwen in this week’s Fan Art Friday. Enjoy.
