Extend The Obsession With This DAREDEVIL Art Gallery

Haven’t had your fill of Daredevil in the past month? Good, because neither have we. Since the Marvel show came out in the beginning of April, our obsession has run deep and appeared all over the site. It seems this obsession is not only being felt here, as our talented friends over at DeviantArt have gathered a collection of some of the best Daredevil artwork the members on their site have to offer. Ranging in styles, tones, and representations of the character; this collection shows just how much love there is out there for The Man Without Fear. Yes, even the Ben Affleck version gets some love.

Take a look at a few in the gallery below.

Along with these beautiful pieces of devotion and craftsmanship comes a little history lesson on the circumstances that created Daredevil by artist and site member, Deevelliot. Touching on the creation of Marvel comics itself, and the state of New York City in the 1960s, Deevelliot paints his own picture of a world in which someone needed to stand for justice while the city was plagued with crime and corruption. It really is tough to imagine a time when Times Square wasn’t the Walt Disney light-show it is today, but at the time that Marvel comics was starting, it was it’s own real-world equivalent of Gotham City in some sections. Obviously Hell’s Kitchen, now known as Clinton, was one of those areas. While this section of the city is far from the criminal playground it used to be, it seems the events of the attack in The Avengers have set back about fifty years for the sake of the Daredevil series. Good thing we have Matt Murdock to keep it safe while the Avengers deal with bigger issues.
