Express Your Feelings with New STAR WARS Emojis

It’s time to take texting to the next level. The Star Wars app was already tops with me because of its large library of animated GIFs, but the latest update for the iOS version of the app (the Google Play update is coming soon—have no fear!) adds a few dozen Star Wars emojis. All six films are represented, as are Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels. But wait, this deal keeps getting better all the time! The emojis are by artist Truck Torrence, also known as 100% Soft, and they are the cutest ever. I’m guilty of overusing superlatives, but I mean, look at them:

It’s not a bad start, eh? I especially like all of the Anakin Skywalker options available. His transformation from annoying little Ani to redeemed Darth Vader never looked more precious. There are also multiple versions of Obi-Wan—up to and including his Force ghost. If you were an enterprising individual with a little bit of time on your hands, you could probably use these emojis to retell the saga. In fact, consider the gauntlet thrown. I don’t have anything to give you for being the first person to re-create Episodes I-VI with emojis, but I’ll be impressed.

Non-canon emoji fanfic aside, this art is great for everyday conversation. Even if it’s not relevant to the texts you’re sending, everyone should appreciate a cute R2-D2 picture. To use the emojis, just copy them from the app and paste them into your texts. The emojis don’t work on apps like Twitter or Facebook yet, but you can always save them as images and upload them separately.

The app is free and available for iOS and Android.

Which of the Star Wars emojis are your favorites? Let me know in the comments. I can see myself using the helmet-less Darth Vader one frequently. There’s something adorable about his bald, scarred head.
