Exclusive: Watch the Cast of KILLJOYS Play the Mobile Game Based on the Show

Though we’re only a day away from the finale, we’ve yet to hear whether or not Temple Street Productions’ (Orphan Black) new sci-fi show Killjoys will be returning for a second season. The show, which follows a trio of bounty hunters, has been well-received since its premiere in June, with viewership growing a whopping 150% in the 18-49 demographic since the first episode. But, did you also know that the folks behind Killjoys also released a mobile game based on the show?

Killjoys: The Warrant is All, features fast-paced bullet combat in a retro-inspired 8-bit environment. According to the description, the object of the game is to “Hunt down warrant targets as you blast your way through the streets of Old Town. Gain joy, buy boosts and do not let anyone, or anything, get in your way–The Warrant is All.”

At the beginning of the game, you’ll be able to trek through the level as an 8-bit version of John Jaqobis (Aaron Ashmore), unlocking D’avin Jaqobis (Luke Macfarlane), and Dutch (Hanna John-Kamen) as you go. We’ve gotten our hands on exclusive clips of each actor playing the game as their virtual selves as well as chatting about their childhood gaming memories.

First up is Aaron Ashmore (top) who after getting the hang of the game reveals that he was a fan of Contra, Super Mario, Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out!!! and “anything Nintendo from the time-period.”

Next up is Hannah John-Kamen, who admits she’s “such a bad Killjoy in real life” while playing the game. She reminisces about playing F-Zero, Super Mario, Donkey Kong, Earthworm Jim, and being addicted to her Gameboy. As for her favorite? She apparently spent loads of time listening to F-Zero’s sweet tunes, and playing Donkey Kong 2.

Last but not least is Luke Macfarlane, who’s so excited about the game that he almost forgot who he was, and introduced himself as D’avin! Poor Luke. We didn’t get to hear what his favorite games were, but it seems like he had a good time anyways.

What did you think of their reactions? Are you excited for the season finale of Killjoys? Let us know in the comments below.
