Look, up in the air! It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s Superman! Unbound, that is.

The next release in the critically acclaimed line of DC animated films from Warner Premiere, Superman Unbound, pits the Man of Steel against his classic foe Brainiac. Based on Geoff Johns’ 2008 arc from Action Comics, Unbound focuses on Superman (White Collar‘s Matt Bomer) preparing for a showdown with the metal monster Brainiac (Fringe‘s John Noble) as he has his sights set on Earth for harvesting. Also in the mix is actress Molly Quinn as Kara Zor-El, more affectionately known as Supergirl, Clark Kent’s cousin, who has seen the devastation Brainiac can cause when he miniaturized and bottled the Kryptonian capital of Kandor. Superman’s personal life will also get a spotlight this time around, as Clark weighs how much danger his relationship with Lois Lane (Castle‘s Stana Katic) may put her in. Something tells us Lois can handle herself pretty well, but Clark’s a country boy; Let him figure it out.

Superman Unbound is coming soon to Blu-ray, DVD and digital download.

dc does well at animated movies for sure.. But usually justice league stands out a little better then solo movies. the new batman’s are really rockin these days.

been some really cookie cutter supermans lately.
