Exclusive: Roll for Initiative at PAX with Acquisitions Inc.

This weekend, Seattle is transforming from the city that gave us Nirvana, perpetually gray weather, and bittersweet memories every time we see a Sonics jersey into a bastion of all things nerdy as PAX Prime takes control. Considering that Seattle is also home to Wizards of the Coast, it’s no small wonder that there will be plenty of opportunities to ply your craft at Magic: The Gathering and the newly released Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition. Honestly, if you’re going to get caught flat-footed, you may as well be surrounded by like-minded nerds.

Another PAX also means that it’s time once again for the intrepid adventurers of Acquisitions Inc. to assemble and wield their mighty blades against the forces of evil. When we last saw our hardy heroes at PAX East, Dungeon Master Chris Perkins took Penny Arcade’s Gabe (Mike Krahulik), Tycho (Jerry Holkins), Scott Kurtz (PvP), and Morgan Webb out of the frying pan and threw them into the dragon’s fire. Now, this Saturday night at 8PM PT, the adventure continues on the PAX Prime Main Stage. And to help get you hyped up, we have an exclusive preview video of what’s in store for you.

Here’s the official description on the PAX Prime site:

After PAX East, our heroes were in quite a predicament. Two green dragons had a clutch of bronze dragon eggs in their, uh, clutches. Their plan was to raise the bronze wyrmlings as their own young, spoiling them rotten and twisting them to evil. And they would’ve succeeded too, had it not been for those meddling adventurers! Join DM Chris Perkins, Gabe (Mike Krahulik), Tycho (Jerry Holkins), Scott Kurtz and Morgan Webb for the finale of this Tyranny of Dragons adventure! Watch the glorious, bloody, final act of the party’s exploits in the ruins of Dragonspear Castle, and see what other surprises the Queen of Dragons has in store for everybody’s favorite quasi-heroes as Evil tries to take a bite out of the battle-hardened all-stars and interns of Acquisitions Incorporated. Okay, so it’s not exactly Game of Thrones, but hey, it’s cheaper than a baseball game.

Are you like me and won’t be able to make it to PAX this year? Never fear, my homebound hearties! You can livestream the adventuring awesomeness right here. Also, be sure to stay tuned to Nerdist.com all weekend long to add a +2 synergy bonus by keeping up with all the announcements that’ll be coming out of PAX this weekend. And who knows? Our intrepid band of adventurers might even be stopping by the Wizards of the Coast HQ, and who knows what wondrous items they’ll find therein…

Have you played Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition yet? Will you be attending the Acquisition Inc. live D&D game at PAX? What would you like to see happen? Let us know in the comments below.
