EDIT: Peter would like to dedicate this newest song in memory of screen legend Sir Christopher Lee, for his iconic role as Saruman in both The Hobbit and The Lord Of The Rings films, and his impressive body of work away from Middle-Earth, have been a gift to us all.
R.I.P. Sir Christopher Lee.

We are huge fans of Peter Hollens here at Nerdist, and share his love of the music found in the Peter Jackson films based on J.R.R. Tolkien’s Hobbit and Lord Of The Rings series. We have brought you several of Peter’s previous songs and videos to enjoy, but we are very excited to be able to do so before anyone else with this newest video. The song itself, carries an interesting story, in that it is not actually from any of the Hobbit or Lord Of The Rings films like his previous Tolkien-based covers. Instead the song is one based on text from the The Lord Of The Rings novels that another artist, Eurielle, had decided to create in the same style as the music from the films. The lyrics are written by Tolkien himself, and are as they appear in the novel.
“This was a song my fans had been asking me to do for quite some time now,” Hollens told us. “I tend to be doing more and more music simply by request of my viewers, and I love it because it gives me a chance to find music I might not have otherwise.” Hollens also reached out to Eurielle, to get her blessing to do the cover. “She told me she was actually really excited to have me do it, so I hope she likes it.” Something tells us she will be quite pleased with the outcome.
