Things take a turn for the deadly in the pages of Batman #37 as Bruce Wayne manages to break free from the poison-induced paralysis in which he found himself trapped. However, when he regains his faculties, the city has gone to hell in a handbasket thanks to a virulent, antibody-resistant strain of the Joker Toxin engineered by the Clown Prince of Crime himself. Now, it’s a race against the clock as Batman must find Patient Zero and reverse engineer a cure before the government quarantines Gotham City, dooming it to die laughing at the hands of a madman.
