Exclusive: ALIEN NEXT DOOR Illustrations Feature the Cutest Xenomorph Ever

Much like the creature whose name it bears, 20th Century Fox’s Alien is the film franchise that refuses to die. Director Ridley Scott and writer Dan O’Bannon’s original 1979 masterpiece of science fiction and horror has spawned three sequels, two Alien vs. Predator spinoff movies, and a prequel in Scott’s Prometheus — as well as two additional planned films: the Prometheus sequel Alien: Paradise Lost (due out on May 30, 2017) and Neill Blomkamp‘s currently shelved Alien 5 (which would have seen star Sigourney Weaver’s return to the franchise). Factor in all the Alien comic books, novels, video games, and toys, and it’s no wonder that the once terrifying Xenomoph has become so familiar as to be a downright comforting sight to fans worldwide.

Now, writer-artist Joey Spiotto has made the perfect killing machine completely adorable in Alien Next Door. Available from Titan Books, and just in time for holiday gift-giving, this eighty-page hardcover volume shows that our favorite extraterrestrial is now the happiest of homemakers — feeding its goldfish, shopping for groceries, cleaning dishes (as only a Xenomorph can), getting its teeth (both inner and outer) cleaned, cosplaying as its good friend the Predator, and tending to the needs of its cat Jonesy. (Thus explaining what happened to the furry little critter when Ripley left it on Earth at the beginning of Aliens.) As the book’s tagline says, “In space, no one can hear you clean.”
