We’ve been granted a slew of exclusive art from the second volume of Titan Books’ Adventure Time: The Original Cartoon Title Cards, featuring the complete set of title cards from seasons 3 and 4 of Pendleton Ward’s Annie, Emmy, and Peabody Award-winning hit series (broadcast on Cartoon Network). Below you can check out both early draft and finished title card art by the incomparable Andy Ristaino and Michelle Xin, from such episodes as “King Worm”, “You Made Me”, “Dream of Love”, “Marceline’s Closet”, and “Too Young”. Life after the apocalypse has never looked prettier than it does in these snapshots from the Land of Ooo with Finn, Princess Bubblegum, and their friends.
Now available in stores and online, Adventure Time: The Original Cartoon Title Cards (Volume 2) contains early sketches, creator commentary, and exclusive insights into the many inspirations the show’s artists drew from in creating these mini-masterpieces. With season 7 on its way and Adventure Time recently renewed for an eighth season, there’s no time like the present to delve deeply into this celebration of one of the most beloved animated series on TV.
