You can’t tell me this isn’t the best Tuesday ever, because one of my all-time favorite Marvel superheroes is joining the party that is the fourth Avengers movie! We’ve got the story straight from the mouth of the winsome Wasp (a.k.a. the great Evangeline Lilly) herself in today’s edition of Movie Morsels. Plus, the latest on the next James Bond film, a clip from the new Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders, and lots more cinematic goodness…
Avengers 4
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay! Our buddies over at Blastr chatted with Evangeline Lilly about her latest children’s book, The Squickerwonkers: An Artistâs Sketchbook, at last weekend’s New York Comic Con. The actress and writer gave them an update on Ant-Man and the Wasp as well as the fourth Avengers film, which she finally confirms she’ll be a part of!
Though Lilly says the script for director Peyton Reed’s sequel to Ant-Man (pictured above) has not yet been approved by Marvel chief Kevin Feige, she describes the film’s story as “the origin of the Wasp.” As for her role in in Avengers: Infinity War and the as-yet-untitled Avengers 4, Lilly remarks, “The Wasp won’t be in the first part, she’ll be in the second part. Because they want to preserve that reveal for Ant-Man and the Wasp.”
Now how long do we have to wait before Marvel lets Lilly pen a Wasp comic book?!
You can watch the full video interview with Lilly’s comments below…

James Bond 25
Hey, remember Daniel Craig’s much reported remark in the wake of last year’s Spectre about how he’d rather put his hand through a glass table than play James Bond again? Well, it seems a little time and a rumored salary offer larger than the gross national product of most countries can do a lot to change a man’s mind. And so the British thespian sang a slightly different tune when he was asked about 007 at last week’s New Yorker Festival in Manhattan…
“They say that shit sticks, and that definitely stuck,” laughs Craig about his oft-quoted comment. “It was the day after filming [stopped on Spectre]. I’d been away from home for a year… Boo-hoo. It’s a good gig. I enjoy it.”
As for whether or not he’s up for a fifth go-round as the world’s most famous superspy, Craig says that though there have been “no conversations” and “everyone’s a bit tired,” he most likely will never say never again. “As far as I’m concerned, I’ve got the best job in the world,” Craig said. “I’ll keep doing it as long as I still get a kick out of it… If I were to stop doing it, I would miss it terribly.”

Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders
Bam! Pow! Zap! No, it’s not a headline to a tired mainstream news article about how comics are no longer for kids. (Do kids even read comics anymore?) It’s a not-so-subtle lead-in to a new clip from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment’s animated Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders. Featuring the voices of Adam West, Burt Ward, and Julie Newmar in their return, after far too long, to the roles that made them famous…
Allied
Now that the gossip has finally started to die down about Brad Pitt’s personal life, we can finally watch some new footage from his period romantic thriller Allied without the baggage that’s been coming with it. Directed by Robert Zemeckis, the film co-stars Marion Cotillard in a tale of star-crossed lovers fighting the Nazis during World War II. So let’s all hum a few bars of “La Marseillaise” and enjoy something that looks like it very much wants to be this century’s Casablanca…
Bad Dads
Finally today, you can have your X-Men: Apocalypses and your Suicide Squads, but Bad Moms (pictured above) put a bigger smile on my face than most of this summer’s tentpoles. So it’s no surprise that a spinoff to the sleeper hit has already been announced. While it may sound a little less intriguing (and, on a certain level, kind of horrifying), Bad Dads is a thing that is going to happen. STX has announced a release date of July 14, 2017, but I’m praying that date gets moved up a few weeks just in time for Father’s Day!
