Enter DISHONORED 2’s World with New Propaganda Art (Exclusive)

Later this month, players will once again enter the Empire of the Isles, as Bethesda releases the eagerly awaited Dishonored 2. The sequel is set 15 years after the original Dishonored, which depicted Corvo Attano’s transformation into a supernaturally empowered assassin. Corvo may have succeeded in putting his daughter, Emily Kaldwin, back on the throne, but the realm is about to once again be thrown into turmoil.

Emily and Corvo are the playable characters in Dishonored 2, after Emily is once again deposed by an otherworldly invader. But in our exclusive gallery of propaganda artwork from the game, it looks like there were problems in the kingdom long before Emily lost her crown.

If you click on the larger image, you’ll see that this is a newspaper report about the murder of someone who criticized Emily’s reign, with the implication that Corvo killed the man. While we can’t put murder past Corvo, this doesn’t seem like his style. It’s more likely that this is part of an orchestrated attempt to destabilize Emily’s kingdom and paint her as a tyrant.

For a real tyrant, the gallery gives us a taste of how the duke of Serkono, Luca Abele, holds on to his power by making false promises about the food ticket program and “the bloodfly concern.” There are also a few posters for the unusual food items in this world, including some fermented redshark.

Another conspicuous image in these photos introduces the Addermire Institute, which appears to be a cross between a spa and a house of healing. We wouldn’t be surprised at all if it ends up being a location within the game itself, as Emily and Corvo track down their enemies.

You can see the rest of the images in our gallery below, including candied beetles, and a canceled exhibit of inventions by Esmond Roseburrow, which could also be important within the game.

Dishonored 2 will hit Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Microsoft Windows on November 11.
