Elisabeth Moss Creeps Us Out with Trailer for New Film QUEEN OF EARTH

With the end of Mad Men, many have feared they would fall into withdrawal from the amazing Elisabeth Moss. Well, thankfully fans can expect a respite in the form of a new film being distributed by IFC Films and directed by Alex Ross Perry called Queen Of Earth. Not only will we get to look forward to seeing Moss again, but she truly looks like she will be stealing the show from just about everyone else she will be sharing the screen with.

Queen Of Earth tells the tale of Catherine, played by Moss, who ventures off to a cabin by a lake with her childhood friend Ginny, played by Katherine Waterson, to get away after a terrible break-up. Sadly, it seems Catherine and Ginny have drifted apart more than they thought over the years and Ginny starts to fear for Catherine’s sanity as time goes on, and the friend she knew seems to be someone entirely different.

The film looks to be utterly creepy, and truly carries this classic psychological thriller tone throughout its trailer. That seems to be the point, as well, with the rather low budget look to the cinematography, as well as the classic voiceover description that runs through the length of it. The voiceover also carries a very Grindhouse feel to it, which the trailer’s aesthetic also lends very well to. All together, the movie holds a very 1970s quality in the spirit of directors like Sam Peckinpah. Even the poster opts for a classic hand-painted image over anything flashy and modern. This film may fly under a lot of radars, but it definitely looks like one to keep an eye out for.
