Eddie Izzard to Perform His FORCE MAJEURE in 3 Languages

Eddie Izzard never ceases to amaze, which is a feat even more impressive given Eddie’s astonishing career that includes, of course, his accomplished career in comedy, breaking down gender stereotypes, running marathons, engaging in politics, and more.

So, this time around, Izzard is going to perform his latest traveling show Force Majeure in 3 different languages all in one evening. He’s already touring Force Majeure around the globe, including in the U.S., performed entirely in English, French, or German, but there will be a special one night only performance in Normandy, France on the 70th Anniversary of D-Day in which he will do the show in all 3 languages back-to-back, which should be some sort of record.

It’s hard enough to do stand-up in one language. Even traveling between different places that speak the same language can prove difficult; Ask comedians from the U.S., Australia, U.K., and Canada who try their comedy in each other’s country and finding it hard to reach audiences who ostensibly speak the same language. Leave it to the one and only Eddie Izzard to pull this off.

If you can’t be in Normandy, France on June 6th, Izzard is doing a special preview of the show here in the States at the Whitney Humanities Center Auditorium at Yale University in New Haven this Friday, March 28th. Unsurprisingly, the “English” show is sold out.
