Earth May Have A Quake, But We Have A Rock

The city of Los Angeles got a massive wake-up call this morning when a 4.4 magnitude earthquake shook the city for ten seconds. Of course, that doesn’t even begin to touch on the fact that “the big one” is expected to shake up Los Angeles in a major way should it ever hit the San Andreas Fault.

But fear not, young nerdlings! While the crust of the earth may be out to get us, one man is on the case, and his name is The Rock.

Okay, in reality, this is the first set photo from Dwayne Johnson’s upcoming disaster flick, San Andreas. The film centers on a helicopter pilot on a mission to rescue his estranged daughter after a devastating California quake. The film co-stars Carla Gugino, Alexandra Daddario, and Art Parkinson, and is directed by Brad Peyton. While this may be a movie, knowing The Rock is out there protecting us from Cobra Commanders, car thieves with tanks and now earthquakes, I’ll sleep a little more soundly at night.

Now, where did I leave my bottled water and flashlight?
