Meet DUCKTALES’ New Gladstone Gander, Paul F. Tompkins (Exclusive)

In the world of Duckburg, few have as much to celebrate as Donald Duck’s incredibly lucky cousin Gladstone Gander. But after hearing who the new DuckTales got to play the happy-go-lucky nemesis of Donald, it’s safe to say that we are the lucky ones. As it turns out, Gladstone will be voiced by one of our favorite comedians, Paul F. Tompkins. (Now that‘s something to celebrate.)

In this exclusive video, Tompkins talks about joining the all-star cast to play a character who has everything always go right for him, which, of course, drives his notoriously unlucky cousin Donald absolutely insane. And that’s really saying something, because as Tompkins points out, lots of things upset Donald Duck, but little more than Gladstone’s unflappable good fortune.

Tompkins will make his debut as Gladstone Gander in the upcoming episode “The House of the Lucky Gander,” which will air on October 14th. He’s just the latest fantastic addition to the already loaded DuckTales cast.

And we’re especially excited by this casting news, not just because we love Tompkins, but because Gladstone Gander holds a special place in our hearts here at Nerdist—after all, he was voiced in the original series by the host of our Alpha series Talkin’ Toons, Rob Paulsen. Those are some pretty big shoes—or rather, vocal pipes—to fill.

What other DuckTales characters are you hoping to return to the new series? Who would you like to hear fill them? Tell us your best casting ideas in the comments below.
