Dubai Theme Park Boasts 27 Rides Based on Popular Movies

Imagine riding a Capitol Bullet Train roller coaster, as if you’re headed from your district to The Hunger Games, or taking flight in a soaring roller coaster straight out of How to Train Your Dragon. Maybe a Green Hornet roller coaster is more your style? …Scratch that one, let’s go to the Capitol.

Dubai Parks and Resorts is making all your movie-loving dreams come true by bringing popular films to life as theme park attractions. A slate of 27 rides and attractions are being planned for Dubai’s new Motiongate theme park, a film-themed park for movie fans of all ages.

The park will be divided up into five themed zones, one of which is a Sony Pictures Studio Zone, anchored by the aforementioned Green Hornet coaster, and a Smurfs Village Express train for the kids.

The Lionsgate Zone is where you can hop aboard that Capitol Bullet Train, and the DreamWorks Zone is where you jump on a Dragon Glides coaster and hold tight on the park’s fastest coaster, the Madagascar Mad Pursuit. Will there be be ringtail Lemurs involved? I’d bet money on it.

The most interesting thing on the slate is a short mention of a Ghostbusters dark ride. With the new movie coming out, Ghostbusters fever is hotter than ever and the possibility of getting to settle-in to an Ecto-1 mobile for an adventure sounds marvelous.

As for the other zones, they’ll be filled with attractions themed out to Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, Zombieland, Step Up and Kung Fu Panda. Hold on, Step Up? Tell me there’s a water ride that looks like this:

Does a movie theme park sound like a dream come true? What about a ride based on Channing Tatum? Let us know in the comments!
