DreamWorks’ ALL HAIL KING JULIEN Pays Tribute to TWIN PEAKS

The new episodes of Twin Peaks are still about a year away from airing on Showtime, but if you’re craving a little David Lynch-style surrealism, then DreamWorks’ and Netflix’s Madagascar spin-off series All Hail King Julien has you covered. In a tribute to Agent Dale Cooper’s infamous dream episode of Twin Peaks — where he encounters a backwards-talking dancing dwarf in a red-draped room in a surreal dream one night — the lemur king has a very strange dream that can only be described as truly Lynchian. You can check out a clip of King Julien’s dream in the exclusive video above.

All Hail King Julien, which is starting its third season on Netflix, stars Danny Jacobs as the voice of the lemur King from the Madagascar movie franchise. It serves as a prequel to the first film and focuses on the weirdo lemurs that first stole the show from Chris Rock, David Schwimmer, Ben Stiller, and Jada Pinkett Smith’s escaped zoo animals.

In the third season of DreamWorks Animation’s All Hail King Julien, “everyone’s favorite dancing lemur brings back the party with Mort, Maurice, and Clover in fun-filled adventures in Madagascar! King Julien sets sail on a wild ride when he is held captive by pirates, performs a booty-shaking dance recital and competes in the Jungle Games.  Mort is abducted by aliens, Clover discovers “fast food,” Julien’s needy parents show up and so much more.” The Emmy Award-winning original series is set to drop its third season of thirteen all-new episodes on Netflix, starting on June 17.
