DOUBLE DARE Returning to Nickelodeon This Summer with All New Episodes

We’re not eager to relive everything about our childhood (MC Hammer pants were clearly a mistake), but one thing we will never regret is how much time we spent watching Nickelodeon‘s kid game shows. Which is why we have no problem with how many hours we are going to spend doing that again this summer, when the network brings back it’s iconic series Double Dare. Especially because they’re also bringing back our favorite obstacle course challenges.

Nickelodeon’s beloved “physical challenge” game show (which our own Kyle Hill knows a little something about) is returning this summer with 40 all-new episodes, which means an entire new generation of children can make us absolutely furious as they fail to find the flag inside the freaking nose! (“It’s on the ground! Turn your head!”)

Just like on the original iteration, the show will be made up of two teams answering trivia questions until they accept competing in the world’s messiest physical challenges. And one team will then go on to the obstacle course, which in addition to that frustrating bespectacled nose will also feature famous stops like the human hamster wheel, the giant mouth, and the wringer.

While Nickeloden says the new show will “feature appearances from blasts from the past” such as “long-time Double Dare fans and stars from today,” they will be naming a new host in the coming weeks to replace Marc Summers. (Though we expect him to show up.) As for contestants they will also be announced at a later date.

And we know plenty of you will be tuning in to once again experience one of the best shows from our childhood. But maybe don’t wear your MC Hammer pants when you go. Not everything from back then was as great.

Which obstacle would you most like to tackle? We dare you to tell us in the comments below.
