Donate Comics For the Marathon Bombing’s Youngest Victims

If you’re looking for a way to help the youngest victims of the Boston Marathon bombing, Boston PR specialist/certified nerd Adri Cowan is doing something that you might want to support. She’s planning to bring a pile of comic books to Boston Children’s Hospital next week, and she’s collecting comic donations for that purpose.

Here’s what she’s looking for: all-ages reads — no swearing, nudity, or otherwise kid-unfriendly material. That’s it. If you’re a local Boston comic shop, a publisher, or an individual and want to send some comics over to make a kid smile, the cut-off date for donations is Tuesday, April 23rd. She’s bringing them over to Boston Children’s Hospital on Wednesday, April 24th, so time is of the essence.

Send the books to:

Caitlin Cunningham
Attn: Cowan Donations
1277 Commonwealth Ave, Apt. 411
Allston, MA 02134

And send Adri an email to let her know what’s coming. Or, if you’re going to be at Boston Comic-Con this weekend, email Adri and arrange a drop-off. The kids could use some comics therapy right about now. (And if you can’t donate to Boston for whatever reason, there’s surely a hospital near you where kids would love to have fresh comics to read. Wouldn’t it be great to make this a thing everywhere?)
