  1. Sarah W. says:

I found the farting aliens pretty funny, but could only watch them once because after a while the funny wore off and the ridiculous showed. Hang in there Aaron after a while you get attached to the Doctor. He is comical and smart. In the episode “the girl in the fireplace” is when you see him drunk and it really gets kind of funny because that is sooo out of his character.

  2. Wayne D. says:

I recommend turning on the captions and watching a second time.

  3. Aaron says:

I have NEVER been deterred by farting aliens.

Holy crap Shaun of the Dead’s mom!

  4. Jason says:

Kyle – thanks for posting these. I love when WHO stuff happens on CraigyFerg (Or when Big C is on!) but I just can’t stay awake that zzzzzzzzzzzz

  5. Purpleslog says:

Aaron…also don’t give up on Season because of the farting aliens. They were the worse of the bunch.

  6. Magnoliafan says:

Is Matt wearing the new jacket the Doctor is supposed to be sporting in the second half this season?

  7. agirlyman says:

Goddamn she’s tall! Lovely too. I’m almost to the end of the third season on netflix, so hopefully 26 days from now I will be caught up to season 6 by then. The episode I watched today was beyond excellent, it had these statues, that could only come to life when nobody was watching them, thoroughly enjoyed it. Gonna be sad to see Freema Agyeman go, and despite the fact that my favorite doctor is Christopher Eccleston, David Tennant has really grown on me, soon he’ll be gone as well lol.

  8. Kyle Anderson says:

    @Aaron
OH! Yes, that first episode is ROUGH. The second and third episodes are great, then it’s sort of rough for two episodes (same director as the first) and then it’s basically gravy through the end of the season.

  9. Aaron says:

I’m finding the second episode of the “first” season (eccleston) to be an immediate improvement over the first, which I assume was a pilot of sorts.

It contains what may be the best use of Britney Spear’s “Toxic” ever.

  10. Aaron says:

    Cool beans, thanks!

  11. Kyle Anderson says:

Well, Aaron, you’ve definitely come to the right place.

First off, welcome! I assume you started with the Christopher Eccleston season. His version of the Doctor is very grumpy at the beginning, but he does soften as the series goes on. We also learn WHY he’s grouchy. Later incarnations of the character are more lighthearted and whimsical.

Even though it’s a different actor (something you’ll learn about too), the core of the character remains constant, and since he is hundreds of years old and incredibly smart, he always has a certain degree of arrogance and supreme confidence, and sometimes it comes across through condescension. BUT, he’s an amazing character who I’m sure you’ll grow to love.

As for cameos, Simon Pegg turns up in episode 7 of the first series and the rest of the later series have a ton of awesome guest stars.

    I hope you enjoy!

  12. Aaron says:

Just started watching Dr. Who on netflix, pretty much because of the constant talk about it on Nerdist, so I thought this would be a good place to ask any questions about it.

I find the character extremely unlikeable and unappealing so far. I know the actor playing the character is different from time to time, but I don’t know if the character changes much. Is he always kind of a grouchy, condescending asshole? I’d always imagined from clips i’d seen a great deal more whimsy and humor from the character. Instead he reminds me of the grouchy Scot who taught english 101 in highschool.

Also, I’m wondering if there are any cool british cameos for me to look forward to, particularly of the comedy nerd variety.

  13. Bobby G says:

Good Grief, Karen Gillan is adorable, funny , hot, and cute all at the same time…..damn.

  14. Joe says:

Those two are two of the most delightful people ever.
