Get Lucky is everything I love about Daft Punk. This song in particular does something new: They withhold their classic techno voice distortion from us for the first 2 minutes of the track. They tease you for 2 whole minutes with jazzy beats and a jammin’ bass line… but then… when it happens… when that synth blasts through your speakers… it’s oh so satisfying! I have no doubt that you will find this album on our Best of ’13Â list.
Daft Punk? More like Daft Phunk.

With all of the early disco/electronic musicians they’re collaborating with, I don’t know that American audiences are going to either understand or accept this album. I hope I’m wrong.
