The ninth season of Doctor Who premieres on BBC this Saturday, Sept. 19, but we’ve already heard news that Jenna-Louise Coleman won’t be returning for another season in her role as The Doctor’s companion Clara Oswald. While we start speculating who could possibly replace one of the most beloved companions and join the Time Lord on his adventures, we can’t help but wonder if his new partner could be a character that we’ve already seen before? The enigmatic prologue that BBC released last week hints at the return of some familiar faces. We’re going to use that as excuse enough to try and take a guess at who has the best chance of returning to Doctor Who in a more permanent role.
On today’s Nerdist News, join guest host Emily V. Gordon as we discuss which returning character might make the best new companion for Peter Capaldi‘s Doctor in the tenth season of Doctor Who, based on what we already know about season nine’s guest stars and some hints from showrunner Steven Moffat.
