Disney Releases PAPERMAN, FROZEN FEVER, and More Shorts on Blu-ray

The modern Disney animated short films are finally coming to Blu-ray.

This summer, the Walt Disney Animation Studios Short Films Collection will bring together 12 of Disney’s animated short films for the first time in one release. It will also be the home video debut of Frozen Fever, the animated short that catches up with Anna, Elsa, Olaf, Sven, and Kristoff after the events of the Frozen feature film.

Disney’s Tangled also gets a spotlight in the Tangled Ever After, a short that depicts the royal wedding of Rapunzel and Eugene Fitzherbert. The timing for this one is fortuitous, considering that Disney recently announced a Tangled animated series with Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi back as the lead characters.

But it’s not all Frozen and Tangled on this release. Mickey Mouse stars in the Oscar-nominated short, Get a Horse!, while Goofy takes the stage in How to Hook Up Your Home Theater.

Two Oscar winners are also included: the beloved Paperman and Feast, in addition to Oscar-nominated shorts Lorenzo and The Little Matchgirl.

The Ballad of Nessie, John Henry, Prep & Landing: Operation Secret Santa, and Tick Tock Tale round out the collection, which will also feature interviews with the Disney animators and newly filmed introductions for the shorts.

Fans of Disney Movies Anywhere and Disney Digital can get an early jump on the Walt Disney Animation Studios Short Films Collection when it becomes available on August 11. Blu-ray fans will have to wait until August 18 to get their hands on this collection.
