Disney Princesses as Jedi Masters Are a Thing of Badass Beauty

Anybody who’s seen the Star Wars septology already knows that the princesses who inhabit that universe—Leia, Amidala—are no strangers to battle. They’re more than happy to grab a blaster and jump into brutal conflict between light and dark if the situation calls for it, and their intricately bunned hair will stay rock-steady the whole time to boot. But what about the classic Disney Princesses? What would they look like as brazen brawlers in a galaxy far far away? Now, thanks to artist Tom Hodges transforming the Disney Damsels into Jedi Masters for his latest T-shirt collection, we have a pretty good idea.

The collection, which is entitled “Once Upon a Long Time Ago,” includes 14 Disney-Princesses-turned-Jedi, and each one has her own unique Force-inspired flavor. Along with being inducted into the Order, each princess has been given a new name (or at least, a Jedi Master-esque spelling of her original name), insignia that mashes up symbols from both the fairytale and Star Wars universes, and of course, some seriously sweet lightsabers.

Some highlights from the series include “Zno Whyt,” who’s being overlooked by the slimy grimace of Darth Vader as she uses the Force to levitate her poisoned apple, “Jazmiin” who’s wielding a Darth Maul-like double bladed lightsaber, “Rah Punzl,” who’s accompanied by what looks like Pascal in a tiny Jedi Robe, and “Muh-Rydah” who has what appears to be a wickedly awesome bow-saber. You can check out all of the Jedi Princesses in the gallery images below. And if you want to sport some of these Midi-Chlorian-infused folk tale females for yourself, you can take a gander at the entire collection at TeeFury.

Now, seeing as how all of these Jedi Princesses are inclined toward the light side, the question becomes, what would a series of Sith Princesses look like? Supreme Leader Snoke White, anyone?

What do you think about Hodges’ Jedi/Disney Princesses mash-up T-shirt collection? Have these ladies always been destined for the laser life, or is this a serious disturbance in the Force of fashion? Let us know in the comments section below!
