We may be done with San Diego Comic-Con, but Disney’s D23 Expo is right around the corner. The yearly convention is set to take place August 14-16 at the Anaheim Convention Center. Though we already knew Pixar and Disney Animation were bringing their respective films to the Con, it was revealed today that Disney Interactive would be holding a presentation to show off the upcoming video games Star Wars: Battlefront, Disney Infinity 3.0, and Kingdom Hearts III. (Please tell us this means we’ll see Mickey with a lightsaber Keyblade!)
The company will be unveiling never-before-seen gameplay, trailers, and lots of surprises. Along with footage, they will be showing off new Star Wars characters and Play Sets for Disney Infinity 3.0 Edition, and will conduct limited-edition giveaways that are exclusive to Hall D23 (where the presentation is being held). Hands-on play time for several of the game’s Play Sets will also be available on the show floor.
Fans will be able to mess around with Star Wars Twilight of the Republic, Star Wars Rise Against the Empire, and Disney Pixar’s Inside Out as well as the game’s innovative Toy Box mode. In addition to that, the company will also be offering an augmented reality experience in which players are able to step into a virtual Toy Box and interact with things alongside Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars characters. Also, if you’re interested in any of the new 3.0 edition characters, Disney will be giving away some of those at the Expo.
As for Star Wars: Battlefront, EA will be giving the audience an in-depth look at the game which is set to release November 17. Fans will also be able to get their hands on this game. I got a chance to play some of the game at E3, so trust me when I tell you that if you’re going to be at D23 and are a fan of Star Wars, you definitely don’t want to miss out on trying out Battlefront.Â
If you’ve yet to try out the awesome arcade game Star Wars Battle Pod, you’ll be able to do so during D23 as well. There will also be a game lounge away from the show floor where you can check out mobile games like Star Wars: Commander, Frozen Free Fall and LINE: Disney Tsum Tsum.
