DEUS EX: MANKIND DIVIDED Wants You to Be Aug Aware

To augment, or not to augment, that is the question.

What could ever go wrong in a world full of augmented humans? That’s the question posed in the upcoming title, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. There’s a group in the game that want to keep humans “pure,” and are completely against augmentations. Sorry, Adam Jensen.

To push this narrative forward, Square Enix and Eidos created a fun website that imagines what propaganda would look like coming from the side against people who are enhancing themselves. There’s some really rad artwork there (like the poster below), filled with plenty of fear mongering. Check it out at AugAware.org.

There’s also an interesting video showing you what could go wrong if you were equipped with a robotic arm while shopping at your local liquor store. Things get rather messy. Peep it at the top of the page! This is definitely an interesting way of promoting the game.

This campaign does pose an interesting philosophical question about what sort of dangers creating super-humans could pose. At the moment, it does seem like science fiction, but I don’t doubt that eventually science will get to a point where humans can enhance their bodies using some crazy tech. So, which side would you be on? I’m all-in on using technology to its fullest capacity.

You can nab Deus Ex: Mankind Divided on August 23 on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

What do you think about this campaign by Eidos and Square Enix? Does this make you more interested in what’s going to happen in Mankind Divided? Are you now Aug Aware? Let us know in the comments below!
