Deadpool Faces Boba Fett in New EPIC RAP BATTLES OF HISTORY

The fourth season of Epic Rap Battles of History may be over, but there has been an awakening…you could even call it a “special edition” of Epic Rap Battles. Just in time for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the infamous bounty hunter, Boba Fett is taking on Marvel’s “Merc with a Mouth,” Deadpool!

Boba Fett made his live action debut in The Empire Strikes Back, and everyone tries to forget that he first appeared in The Star Wars Holiday Special. Between Empire and Return of the Jedi, Star Wars fans latched on to Boba Fett and he quickly became one of the most popular characters in the franchise. Their devotion to the mystique of Boba Fett was rewarded by Fett’s untimely demise in Return of the Jedi for the sake of a burp joke.

Deadpool actually has a lot in common with Boba Fett. In Deadpool’s first appearance, he was also humiliated by the heroes…and as an added indignity, he was mailed back to his employer in a box. Boba Fett and Deadpool also share convoluted origin stories that don’t make a lot of sense. Against all odds, both characters were embraced by the fans and given much larger profiles in their respective universes.

Because of The Force Awakens, all of those cool Boba Fett solo stories in the Star Wars Expanded Universe have been wiped away. This is even referenced in the new Epic Rap Battles video, when Deadpool notes that he doesn’t know enough about Fett to diss him! Deadpool seems to get in the most of the lines here, but Fett also has a few pointed verses that mock Deadpool’s initial status as a ripoff of Spider-Man and Deathstroke.

For this video, Boba Fett was voiced By Nice Peter (a.k.a. Peter Shukoff) and performed by Ivan “Flipz” Velez. Robert Hoffman portrayed Deadpool, with EpicLLOYD (a.k.a. Lloyd Ahlquist) providing the voice of Deadpool.
