Daryl Faces a Choice in New THE WALKING DEAD Preview

Much to the relief of several Walking Dead fans, Norman Reedus‘ Daryl Dixon did not meet his demise in the seventh season premiere. But that doesn’t mean that Daryl’s not in trouble! To keep Rick and the rest of the Alexandria survivors in line, Negan has taken Daryl hostage. And as we can see in the latest preview scene, Negan and the Saviors may have bigger plans for Daryl.

In this brief clip, Daryl isn’t the only prisoner of war to be grabbed by Negan’s men. It also appears that the prisoners have been given standard uniforms and forced to compete in some kind of game with captive walkers in the compound. You can see in Daryl’s eyes that he wants to fight back, but he’s kept in line by his old nemesis, Dwight. According to Dwight, Daryl has three choices: he can be like the helpless prisoners in the game, he can become a walker, or he can follow Dwight’s example and submit to Negan’s rule.

You may recall a preview before the season started that featured Dwight wearing Daryl’s clothes and riding his bike. That scene might be coming up in this episode, as we now know how Dwight acquired all of those items from Daryl. The real question now is whether Daryl will eventually give in or at least pretend to join the Saviors. Have you noticed the scars on Dwight’s face? If the show is anything like the comic, the story behind those burns may play out this season. And if Daryl rides with the Saviors, he could be in danger of receiving a similar brand.

The Walking Dead season 7 continues this Sunday, November 6 at 9pm on AMC.
