Danica McKellar, Billy Dee Williams, and Drew Carey on DANCING WITH THE STARS This Season

So, we’re obviously going to root for our own Danica McKellar on this season’s Dancing with the Stars, right? She hosts Math Bites on the Nerdist Channel, she’s one of us, simple. Matter closed.

Wait a minute.

Then we find out that Lando Calrissian is on the show, too. Billy Dee Williams himself. Another Friend of Nerdist. LANDO. We know he can sing, at least in Cantina karaoke. Can he ballroom dance, too? Oh, this is tough.

Wait, Drew Carey’s in it as well? He did the second Nerdist Podcast ever. And Set List and Pop My Culture. And I once watched an LA Galaxy soccer match from his luxury box, before he bought into the Seattle Sounders. Can’t root against Drew.

And there’s hero swimmer Diana Nyad; you can’t possibly root against someone as inspirational as her. There’s Full House alum Candace Cameron Bure, outspoken former NHL tough guy Sean Avery, ice dancers Meryl Davis and Charlie White, actress and former Real Housewife of Atlanta Nene Leakes, Big Time Rush‘s James Maslow, Paralymics snowboarding star Amy Purdy (talk about inspirational), and Australian teen pop star and Bieber opening act Cody Simpson, all dancing their way into your cold, cold heart.

So, we have some rooting interest in this season. Place your bets now. The season starts Monday, March 17th on ABC.
