Daisy Ridley Shares a STAR WARS Day Message from EPISODE VIII’s Set

Happy May the Fourth, everyone! Today marks the fifth annual official Star Wars Day, and Daisy Ridley is celebrating the event on the set of Episode VIII. And while we won’t get to see the next chapter in the Star Wars saga until December 2017, Ridley took the time to record a special message for fans.

In the newly posted video, Ridley was joined by BB-8, Admiral Ackbar, and other aliens as she thanked fans for contributing to Force for Change, the Star Wars-themed charitable organization run by Lucasfilm. Ridley’s co-star, John Boyega, was not present for this video, but he was there in spirit as Ridley was presented a “gift” that was supposedly from Boyega. And said gift turned out to be an oversized action figure of Boyega’s character, Finn.

While Ridley joked that the gift from Boyega was “so him,” she also took to Instagram to illustrate her closeness with her co-star by sharing a behind-the-scenes picture of herself and Boyega holding hands on the set of The Force Awakens

Ridley also shared a few other photographs from The Force Awakens which showed off Rey’s makeup artists and Ridley’s infectious smile.

The video message from Ridley notes that fans can still use Force for Change to enter a contest for a trip to Ireland’s Skellig Michael, the filming location for Ahch-To. That’s where Rey found Luke Skywalker at the end of The Force Awakens, and according to Lucasfilm, it’s also the site of the first Jedi Temple! For more info about that contest, click here.
