Daenerys Targaryen Slays Harry Potter and Gandalf with Fantasy Smack Talk

One of the best things about action figures is the ability to bring together our favorite characters from different stories together for vast adventures, epic battles… or petty squabbles. This week’s episode of Toy Shelf explores that issue by uniting the heroes of three of the biggest fantasy franchises, Game of Thrones, Harry Potter, and The Lord of the Rings, for a round of smack talk.

It all starts innocently enough, with Harry Potter and Gandalf comparing notes about the mythological creatures that they’ve flown. The best Harry can offer is that he’s ridden the Hippogriff, while Gandalf brags about his friendship with eagles. But the delicate peace between them is broken by the arrival of Daenerys Targaryen (The Unburnt, Queen of the Andals, the Rhoynar and the First Men, Queen of Meereen… you get the idea), who does her best mean girl impression while bragging about her dragons.

From there, Dany proceeds to savagely put down the Boy Who Lived and the Servant of the Secret Fire, asserting (correctly) that riding a dragon is inherently cooler than anything either of the other two has done in this regard. Harry and Gandalf may have no defense against Daenerys’ vicious insults, and even begin to turn on each other when she wields the harshest blows. (We hear you laughing at poor Harry, Gandalf!)
