Get GHOSTED in Craig Robinson and Adam Scott’s New X-FILES-Inspired Comedy

Though The X-Files never shied away from humor—”Bad Blood,” anyone?—it wasn’t exactly a comedy (“Home,” anyone?). However, an upcoming series titled Ghosted, Craig Robinson (The Office, Mr. Robot) and Adam Scott (Parks and Recreation, Party Down) will attempt to showcase the lighter side of paranormal investigations.

Fox, the home of The X-Files, has given a pilot production commitment to Ghosted, a half-hour single-camera comedy about two men who have been hired by the Underground Investigative Service to explore a surge of unexplained phenomena in Los Angeles, Deadline reports. Robinson plays the Scully type—a skeptical lad named Leroy Wright—while Scott plays more of a Mulder with his brilliant, but totally out there Max Allison.

This is not be Scott’s first venture into the fantastical, as he had a starring role in last year’s Christmas horror Krampus, about a demon found in Austrian folklore that spends his holiday season looking for naughty children to punish. The Krampus sounds exactly like the sort of thing Mulder would try to sell Scully on when investigating a missing child case. And it’s also not the first time Scott and Robinson have shared the screen, as both appeared in stoner comedy Hot Tub Time Machine 2. Here’s hoping the duo run into the ghost of Rob Corddry just to keep things interesting (and probably pretty foul-mouthed).
