Count All The References In SESAME STREET’s GAME OF THRONES Parody

We’d like to start with the obligatory “Winter is Coming” reference but it’s frankly overdone and there are just too many other awesome nods to Game Of Thrones in this Sesame Street parody. So we’re not going to do it. No “Winter” reference here, no way, no how.

A game of musical chairs is all that stands between the Iron Throne of Jesteros, made of golf club irons, and its four competitors. Only Grover Bluejoy can help them find a new ruler. Complete with Sesame-ed versions of Eddard Stark, Tyrion Lannister, Joffrey Baratheon, Robb Stark, Cersei Lannister, and “Mommy of Dragons” Daenerys Targaryen, this parody is chock full of references to the HBO series returning this weekend.

Complete with a cameo from Woman in Red Melisandre saying “The monster is blue and full of errors,” the game begins which results in its first two casualties of Tyrion and Daenerys. Next to go is Joffrey and Grover Bluejoy is quick to point out that “It looks like you choked, Joffrey”

The game continues until Grover himself becomes king of Jesteros, but not without Robb Stark making a Red Wedding comment and Cersei storming off to “tell her brother” that she lost. It seems even in Muppet form, Sean Bean can’t escape his fate as the newly crowned king Grover tells him not to lose his head over the results of the Game of Chairs.

Grover then states it’s chilly and that winter is coming. To be clear, that was Grover saying it, not us. You can’t ever be mad at Grover for doing anything. We kept our promise to not use the reference.
