Welcome to the weekend edition of Comics Relief! This week, more details about The Inhumans’ role in the upcoming Secret Wars, hints at Green Lantern’s future from DC Comics, books about Nazi dinosaur armies, and more. First off though, comics writing legend Grant Morrison has opened up his brain a bit this week, and shown the world just what his DC Multiverse looks like, in all its vivid detail….

Grant Morrison’s Multiversity Guidebook Maps Out DC’s Multiverse

Ever since the year-long series 52 at DC Comics came out several years ago, and they established a new Multiverse with 52 different Earths, fans have been wanting to know just who and what exactly is on each one. While we’ve known about several of them for awhile, but now thanks to this week’s Multiversity Guidebook from Grant Morrison, we now know the details on 45 of the 52 worlds.

Some of these we’ve known for years, Earth-1 has its own series of OGNs, Earth-2 has its own comic, Earth-3 is home of the evil Crime Syndicate etc. But now we know that Earth-11 is home to the cosplay-inspired genderbent Justice League, Earth-12 is home to Bruce Timm DC animated universe, and much of the rest of the Multiverse is inhabited by Earths resembling great Elseworlds titles of the past like Superman: Red Son, Kingdom Come, and New Frontier. But there are still 7 “Unknown Worlds” that the Mutiversity Guidebook hints have a special future in store. This OG DC fanboy hopes that once Convergence ends, some of those old school universes will find a place on some of these as yet unformed worlds.

Tommy Lee Edwards And 800 North Bring  Dino D-Day To Comics

Developer 800 North has teamed up with artist Tommy Lee Edwards to create a comic based on its first-person shooter video game Dino D-Day. The game is set in an alternate history where Adolf Hitler discovered a way to bring back the dinosaurs to create a massive army (which, I must say, is a truly inspired idea). Called Operation Genesis, the story is an origin tale for the game’s two lead characters. The 18-page digital comic comes complete with Tommy Edwards’ color layouts, allowing readers to go back and forth between them and the finished pages. Brian Michael Bendis and Mark Bagley Say Farewell To The Universe They Helped Create In Ultimate End

With Secret Wars coming up, we’ve known the end of the Ultimate Universe was coming. Now we know the Ultimate Universe is getting a proper goodbye straight from the men who began the whole thing.  In 2000, Brian Michael Bendis and Mark Bagley began Ultimate Spider-Man, which was intended to just be a mini-series, but it was so popular that it launched a new Marvel Universe.

Now, Bendis and Bagley are back together for Ultimate End, and plan to give the Ultimate Marvel Universe legitimate closure before it all goes away. As for the character that started it all, Ultimate Peter Parker, Bendis hints he could appear before the Ultimate Universe goes the way of the dinosaur, even though he died in that continuity and was replaced with Miles Morales. Bendis said knowing beforehand about Secret Wars and Ultimate End allowed him to make a “bucket list” of stories he wanted to get done before the end of it, and one of those things was one last appearance of Peter Parker. Dark Horse Set To Release Kurosagi Corpse Delivery Service Omnibus Edition

Popular horror manga series Kurosagi Corpse Delivery Service is getting the deluxe treatment from Dark Horse Comics. The publisher has announced the release of the first Kurosagi Corpse Delivery Service Omnibus Edition, which will come as an oversized collection of over 640 pages. The series, from creators Eiji Otsuka and Hosui Yamazaki, follows five recently graduated university students who have formed a company that specializes in dealing with the dead and fulfilling their last wishes, for compensation of course. Because many of the dead aren’t exactly dead from natural causes, as you can imagine, highjinks ensue. The new omnibus edition will be out this September. [Comics Alliance]

DC Hints At Big Changes Coming For Green Lantern Post-Convergence

Coming up in March, DC is ending Green Lantern Corps, Green Lantern: New Guardians and Red Lanterns all just right before Convergence hits. So what comes after that, when the one and only Green Lantern book returns in June? DC has released a teaser image that suggests a new life for Hal Jordan, saying “the ring’s no longer the thing.” Does Hal loses his Corps status again, or could this mean something totally unexpected? And what happens to John Stewart, Kyle Rayner and Guy Gardner?

According to Green Lantern writer Robert Venditti, “there are a lot of challenges that need to be faced, and they’ll lead to some pretty drastic schisms that are going to happen. Some of these things will come to conclusion by issue #40. Some of them, we’ll see exactly how things are different after we come back from the two-month break.”  [Newsarama]

Marvel Releases First Details On Secret Wars Tie-In Inhumans: Attilan Rising

We’re getting our first real details on Marvel’s Secret Wars tie-in series, and the first one out of the gate is part of the Battleword branded titles, focusing on the royal family of the Inhumans. According to the official press release “Medusa, ruler of Attilan and Queen of the Inhumans, has been tasked with rooting out the rebels, and crushing their resistance beneath her steely tendrils of hair. Yet a chance encounter with the head of the insurgency will change everything. A man named – Black Bolt! And things are about to get complicated.” Attilan Rising is written by Uncanny Inhumans writer Charles Soule and features artwork by John Timms (Nova)

According to Soule, “One of the ideas behind Inhumans: Attilan Rising from the start was to put Medusa, Black Bolt, Reader, Iso and other characters from Inhuman into a new context; that’s part of the fun of an event like Secret Wars. Viz Bringing Back  Old School The Legend of Zelda Comic

Viz is taking advantage of the wave of ’90s Nintendo Power nostalgia and reprinting the comic version of The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, which appeared in the pages of the old magazine, way back in the day. The story has been out of print for many years now, but Viz Media has announced over Twitter that they will publish a new collection of manga creator Shotaro Ishinomori’s classic Zelda comic, which is currently set for release on May 5.
