If you live in a big city and don’t feel like spending the majority of your day sitting in your car during rush hour, you are probably taking either the bus or the subway. It’s a great place to people watch or catch up on your podcast backlog.
Comedian Scott Rogowsky and the Chortle decided to make people watching a little awkward on a New York subway. The above video shows Scott sitting innocently in his seat, but as you look closer you can understand the reason other passengers are giving him looks as if he’s crazy.
Scott created fake book covers and is “reading” on the subway. The book covers include the George Bush autobiography If I Did It: How I Would Have Done 9/11, How to Hold a Fart In, Definitely Not Porn So What are You Looking At? Mind Your Own Business, and arguably the best sequel to a book I’ve ever read, Gone Girl 2: Even Goner.
My favorite part of the video is the blurb by Salman Rushdie, “Yep, she’s definitely gone this time.”
I wouldn’t mind seeing an uncut version of this hilarious prank. There has to be SOMEONE in that subway car that started looking for a hidden camera right away.
You can check out more of the Chortle’s videos on their YouTube channel here.
So what do you think? Which cover was your favorite? Do you have a book title you wish YOU could embarrass complete strangers with? Let me know on Twitter or sound off in the comments below.
