Colton Haynes Confirms Return to Arrow in 2016

The headquarters of Team Arrow is about as crowded as it has ever been. But there’s always room in the Lair for an old friend. Colton Haynes has confirmed that he will be back on Arrow for at least one episode in the fourth season. Haynes will reprise his role as Roy Harper a.k.a. Arsenal, the former partner of Green Arrow (Stephen Amell) and the former love interest of Thea Queen (Willa Holland)

While speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Arrow‘s co-showrunner, Marc Guggenheim, said “We are beyond thrilled that Colton will be returning to Arrow this season. It was always our intention to have him return following his departure last season, but it was a matter of finding the right story line to pull it off. That opportunity presented itself in episode 412 and we can’t wait for the fans to see this reunion.”

Haynes also shared the news on his twitter account.

Back in Arrow‘s first season, Haynes made his debut as Roy Harper on a recurring basis before getting promoted to a series regular for the second and third seasons. From a storyline perspective, Roy’s return could be somewhat problematic if he comes home to the recently renamed Star City. To save Oliver Queen, Roy publically claimed that he was the Arrow and he allowed himself to be arrested. Roy’s death was faked in order to save his life, and he was last seen working as a mechanic far away from the rest of his former team.

It’s not clear if Haynes will appear in any other episodes of Arrow this season. His return appearance will likely be televised in early 2016.
