Cloud Lamps Bring the Magic of the Outdoors Inside

Cloudy days aren’t necessarily something to celebrate, but you can’t deny that a gorgeous sunrise or sunset with a few choice clouds is a beautiful thing. I’m assuming that was part of the motivation behind this recent project from the guys at Household Hacker. Watch the video above for a very useful step by step guide to making your very own cloud lamps to bring the beauty of precipitation inside without the threat of rain.

The tools for this project are pretty simple. A little hot glue, a destroyed pillow or stuffed animal, some recyclables, and some Christmas lights, and you’re on your way to creating a little piece of heaven in your living room. Another nice thing about this tutorial is that the guys are honest about the tricks and challenges when gluing cotton onto a hard surface. If you’ve ever heard the phrase “nailing jello to the wall,” you will immediately understand the conundrum.

Regardless, next time you have some empty water bottles and a pillow you really have no excuse for not making one of these bad boys. I hope you share all the pictures of your adventures with us on Facebook or in the comments below!
