CineFix Tells Us 9 Things We (Probably) Didn’t Know About BACK TO THE FUTURE

There are few movies as integral to the pop culture landscape of a generation as Robert Zemeckis’ Back to the Future trilogy. Unlike the Star Wars universe, which perpetuated the whole of the zeitgeist and continues to do so, BTTF was really made for the kids born in the mid-’80s and early-’90s, even if they were too young to see the movies at the time. I remember one of the earliest movies I ever saw in the theater was Back to the Future part II in 1989 with my grandparents, aunt, and cousins, and all the adults could do was freak out about the bad language. (Tame by today’s standards, but they do say “sonofabitch” about a thousand times in it.)

This is why it’s still exciting that 30 years after the first film came out, and exactly the year part of the second film takes place, there are little tidbits of information we may have missed or just never knew. Enter CineFix‘s video 9 Things You (Probably) Didn’t Know About Back to the Future.

While we certainly already knew about Eric Stoltz’s firing and Michael J. Fox having to make the first film concurrently with Family Ties, I personally never knew about the Delorean, such an iconic and recognizable movie car, at one point being written to be a refrigerator. Good call changing that one, guys. And that original Sid Sheinberg note about changing the title? Oh boy, what a horrible mistake that would have been.
