Chewbacca is Tweeting Photos of His Original STAR WARS Script Pages

The first Star Wars film had many different versions. As you likely know, some of the characters were vastly different and Luke Skywalker was actually named Starkiller. Actor Peter Mayhew, who’s played the Wookiee Chewbacca (a.k.a. Maz Kanata’s “boyfriend”) in all of the films, has just tweeted some script pages from one of the early iterations of the the movie. Apparently this is going to lead up to some sort of announcement from him (stay tuned here). We have no idea just what this announcement will be, but it’s certainly intriguing.

As you can see from the pics below, the original script has the title, The Adventures of Luke Starkiller, as taken from the Journal of the Whills.‘” The opening crawl is a little different, though C3P-0 is just as prissy as ever. In case you can’t read it, here is the opening:

“It is a period of civil war in the galaxy. A brave alliance of underground freedom fighters has challenged the tyranny and oppression of the awesome Galactic Empire. Striking from a fortress hidden among the billion stars of the galaxy, rebel spaceships have won their first victory in a battle with the powerful Imperial starfleet. The Empire fears that another defeat could bring a thousand more solar systems into the rebellion and Imperial control of the galaxy would be lost forever. To crush the rebellion once and for all, the Empire is constructing a sinister new battle station. Powerful enough to destroy an entire planet, its completion spells certain doom for the champions of freedom.”

Check out the tweet and the pics of the script in the gallery below:
