Check Out the Adventure Worlds & GHOSTBUSTERS Packs in LEGO DIMENSIONS

The fun just keeps coming! Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment hit Gamescom today to reveal that LEGO Dimensions, their upcoming title which blends physical brick building with unique gameplay, would also include unlockable open-world levels called Adventure Worlds. The announcement came alongside a brand new trailer showcasing the fun that’s to come when the game launches September 27th.

While the main story already takes some of our favorite characters through the universes of Scooby Doo, Portal, Oz, and Doctor Who, the Adventure Worlds you’ll unlock along the way allow your characters to spend more time and freely explore whole worlds dedicated to the franchises seen in game.

The three levels available from the beginning will be based on DC Comics, The Lord of the Rings, and The LEGO Movie, and will be unlocked by the starring characters associated with them. There will be 11 other worlds made available, which are tied to the other franchise-themed levels found in the game.

The best part about this is that the worlds aren’t limited to the characters that are associated with them. That means that once they’re unlocked, you’ll be able to enter them with whichever protagonist you choose. While this may not be the biggest deal for someone like our favorite time traveling doctor, seeing Scooby or Batman run around Middle-earth sounds incredibly enticing.

The publisher also revealed the highly anticipated Ghostbustersthemed goodies, which will include a Level Pack featuring a LEGO Peter Venkman figure, and Fun Packs which bring both the LEGO Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, and LEGO Slimer mini-figures to the game. For a closer look at the new additions, feast your eyes on the gallery below.
