The Eighth Wonder of the World is welcoming us all back to our work week this fine day with some sizzling new footage from his new big-screen reboot Kong: Skull Island. Plus, the latest news on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and Avengers: Infinity War, and lots more cinematic sweetness, all in today’s Movie Morsels!
Kong: Skull Island
Kong smash! Okay, maybe our favorite, skyscraper-scaling ape doesn’t exactly speak like the Hulk… or, well, at all… but judging by the newest trailer tease for Warner Bros’ Kong: Skull Island, he can raise just as much hell. So is Tom Hiddleston in just as much trouble in this new film as he was with the Green Goliath in Avengers? We’ll find out when the monster mash arrives on March 10th.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
For all we’ve seen thus far of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, we still haven’t gotten a good look at Ego the Living Planet, a.k.a. Star-Lord’s proud papa, played the one and only Kurt Russell. A new peek at what appears to be some licensed merchandise, however, may be giving us our first glimpse. If you don’t mind being potentially spoiled, you check it out here.
Avengers: Infinity War
And speaking of Guardians of the Galaxy… Just in case you were wondering if Peter Quill’s other father figure, the fin-headed Yondu, would be in Avengers: Infinity War, actor Michael Rooker himself is spilling the beans the same way many of his co-stars have: by sharing a selfie in which he can be seen sporting a beanie with the film’s official logo.
Cars 3
Cars 2 is a strong contender for most folks’ least favorite Pixar film. So despite the ton of money the studio made off of it, there’s still a healthy heap of goodwill to be restored when the franchise’s third installment rolls into theaters. Fortunately, the film’s latest trailer gives the impression that a lot more thought went into this one than “Let’s make Mater a secret agent!” Enjoy…
Get Out
Jordan Peele’s new thriller Get Out scared the pants off its competition at this weekend’s box office. Wondering what horror films influenced this much-praised film? Our own Clarke Wolfe takes a good look here.

Nightwing
Finally today… With Ben Affleck reportedly thinking of saying farewell to the Dark Knight after his first Batman solo film, could he be replaced in the still nascent DC Extended Universe by his former sidekick Nightwing? We examine the question in Nerdist News.
